I believe as a mother, experienced cook and baker I bring a great down-to-earth quality in my reviews. - I have not reviewed any to this point, but plan on branching out to review food and food related items. I would be interested in possibly reviewing cooking equipment, specialty foods, etc.
Formats Accepted: Currently I accept hardback, clothbound, and paperback books. I will consider e-books, but hard copies are definitely preferred. I will review ARC’s, though I would prefer and advance release or regular release copy. If I find multiple typos or editing issues, that is dealt with in my review, so I prefer to have a final copy.
How long will it take for a review: Generally I review a cookbook between one to two months from the time it is received. Sometimes it is sooner (Let’s just be honest, if it looks like an incredible book I’ll dive right in and might have a review ready in a week or so!), and occasionally–due to unforseen circumstances–it could take 4-6 months, though that is pretty uncommon. If you’d like a review posted later/earlier or around a specific release date, make sure to let me know in your initial contact so that I can make arrangements for that.
Blog Tours: I will consider participating in Blog Tours, but please contact me before you send me the book.
Review Postings: Not only will the review be posted here on the site, but it will also be made available through the following sites as well : Goodreads, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and (usually, but not always) Twitter.
Review Expectations: I try to like every cookbook I receive, but that just isn’t possible. Every book is not the right fit for every person. I do always promise an honest review, if not always a positive review. Usually when I receive a cookbook I choose a minimum of three recipes to cook to give me a good handle on the book. I state under each book that the review is my thoughts and opinions. If I have received a free copy from a publisher/author/etc, that will also be stated, but it does not affect my review in any way. If I receive an unsolicited cookbook and I truly dislike it, I will try to contact the sender and give them the option of me reviewing it or not.
